What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Good all-rounder
Brakes hard and straight, no pulling. Very reassuring. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Took a few hundred km to bed in.

Happy with the purchase
Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair.

Decent for the price
Grip when pulling away on wet junctions is much better than my old tyres. Driven about 3,000 km on these so far.

A step up from my old set
Good summer tyre for the money. Rolling noise is low and braking feels predictable.

Great value for money
The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Switched from a budget brand to the Firehawk Sport — the difference in braking is obvious.
