What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Fitted and forgotten
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. For this price I didn't expect much, but the Solus 4S HA32 genuinely surprised me. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Smooth ride
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The Solus 4S HA32 grips well on dry roads. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.
