What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Quiet and comfortable
Does exactly what a all-season tyre should. Happy with the purchase. Fitted before a long road trip.

Great value for money
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Ordered online, fitted locally. Not the last word in steering feel.

Good, not perfect
Switched from a budget brand to the Solus 4S HA32 — the difference in braking is obvious.

Braking feels secure
Switched from a budget brand to the Solus 4S HA32 — the difference in braking is obvious. Brakes hard and straight, no pulling.
