What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Very happy with these
Bought on price, staying for the quality. The Seasonproof 2 punches above its weight. Third car I've run on Nokian Tyres. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Solid choice
A sensible buy. Not sporty, but safe and quiet. Not the last word in steering feel.

Very happy with these
Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Confidence in corners
Had them fitted last month. Wet grip is confidence-inspiring and they look the part too. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.
