What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Solid choice
Good balance of comfort and handling. Would buy again. Switched from a budget brand to the Scorpion Winter — the difference in braking is obvious.

Reliable winter rubber
Third car I've run on Pirelli. Consistent quality every time. Felt secure on icy morning roads. Not the last word in steering feel.

Fair tyre for the money
My mechanic recommended Pirelli and he was right. Quiet, stable, no complaints. They're okay.

Smooth ride
Wet braking is excellent. Gave me real confidence on a flooded motorway stretch.

No complaints so far
A sensible buy. Not sporty, but safe and quiet. Holds well in snow and slush. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.
