What the tyre markings mean
- XL
- Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
- M+S
- Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.

Better than expected
Ordered online, fitted locally. The tyres themselves have been faultless so far. Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Fitted before a long road trip. Comfortable at motorway speeds and felt safe in heavy rain. Comfortable over rough surfaces. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.

For this price I didn't expect much, but the Winter Sottozero 3 genuinely surprised me. Brakes hard and straight, no pulling.
