Winter Sottozero™ 3 is the winter tyre dedicated to high-end premium vehicles. It has been designed taking into account the evolution of the modern vehicles, in order to achieve maximum safety, control and performance in all winter weather conditions.

New compounds and new sipe design have been used introducing the latest technological features. Furthermore, Winter Sottozero™ 3 has been co-developed with premium and prestige OEMs.

What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Reliable winter rubber
Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. For this price I didn't expect much, but the Winter Sottozero 3 genuinely surprised me. Holds well in snow and slush.

Does what it says
Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.
