What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Reliable winter rubber
Decent tyre at a fair price. Tread pattern clears water well. For this price I didn't expect much, but the Snow Lion TR 777 genuinely surprised me.

Impressed so far
Second set of Triangle on this car. The last ones wore well, expecting the same here. Balanced and predictable. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Fitted before a long road trip.

Triangle delivers again
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.

Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before.
