What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Switched from a budget brand to the Geolandar A/T G015 — the difference in braking is obvious. Decent grip dry and wet, but they took a few hundred km to feel bedded in. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Fine for the price. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.
