What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Braking feels secure
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Decent tyre at a fair price. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Had them fitted last month. Wet grip is confidence-inspiring and they look the part too. My mechanic recommended Yokohama and he was right. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.
