As a summer tyre, the Geolandar X-CV G057 is tuned for warm conditions: a firm tread compound and a pattern built for stable dry handling and short braking distances. On wet roads the grooves channel water away quickly to keep the contact patch working.

What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Fitted and forgotten
Fitted before a long road trip. Comfortable at motorway speeds and felt safe in heavy rain. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Stable and precise in summer heat. Not the last word in steering feel.

Driven about 3,000 km on these so far. Wear looks even and grip is consistent. Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set.
