What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Strong performer
Switched from a budget brand to the Eurowinter HS02 PRO — the difference in braking is obvious. Reliable winter rubber.

Worth the money
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Fine for the price. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Very happy with these
Very quiet on tarmac. The Eurowinter HS02 PRO made my commute noticeably more relaxed. Felt secure on icy morning roads.
