What the tyre markings mean

M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Pleasantly surprised
Reliable summer rubber. No surprises, which is exactly what I want. Balanced and predictable. No squirm even on hot asphalt.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Bought a full set of Nankang for the family car. Comfortable ride and no drama in the rain. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
