Description

The Potenza S001 stands for pure sporting performance with superior grip and precise response. The tyre offers stability and optimum roadholding at high speeds, superb traction and safe wet handling.

This tyre uses the RFT system. This means that, should there be a sudden loss of air, the tyre can still be controlled without any problems, mobility is retained, and it is not necessary to change the tyre on narrow or busy roads. Tyres with the RFT technology may only be used on cars with a functioning air pressure check system.

What the tyre markings mean

RFT: Run-flat technologyReinforced sidewalls can permit limited continued driving after a loss of pressure. The permitted speed and distance depend on the manufacturer; a pressure monitoring system is normally required.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
For this price I didn't expect much, but the Potenza S 001 RFT genuinely surprised me. Stable and precise in summer heat.

Good, not perfect
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Switched from a budget brand to the Potenza S 001 RFT — the difference in braking is obvious.
