What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Very happy with these
Good value, though the sidewall is softer than my previous set. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama.

Fine tyre, minor niggles
Ordered online, fitted locally. The tyres themselves have been faultless so far.

Nice upgrade
Bought on price, staying for the quality. The Eurowinter HS02 PRO punches above its weight. The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

A step up from my old set
Switched from a budget brand to the Eurowinter HS02 PRO — the difference in braking is obvious. Holds well in snow and slush.

Braking feels secure
My mechanic recommended Falken and he was right. Quiet, stable, no complaints. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Holds well in snow and slush.
