What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Trusted Firestone quality
Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

No complaints so far
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The Multiseason 2 grips well on dry roads. Brakes hard and straight, no pulling.

Worth the money
Ride comfort is the standout. Long journeys feel less tiring now. Nice not having to swap tyres twice a year.
