The MICHELIN Pilot Sport S 5 is one of our passenger car summer tyres.

As a summer tyre, the Pilot Sport S 5 is tuned for warm conditions: a firm tread compound and a pattern built for stable dry handling and short braking distances. On wet roads the grooves channel water away quickly to keep the contact patch working.

Like all tyres in our range, this model meets the applicable European safety and labelling standards and is produced under strict quality control.

What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
EV: Suitable for electric vehiclesThis tyre is optimised for the weight, torque, rolling resistance and noise requirements of electric and hybrid vehicles. The marking does not mean that it can only be used on an EV.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Great on the motorway
Very quiet on tarmac. The Pilot Sport S 5 made my commute noticeably more relaxed. No squirm even on hot asphalt. Nothing fancy, but fair for the price.

Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Bought on price, staying for the quality. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
