What the tyre markings mean
- XL
- Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
- M+S

Quiet and comfortable
Third car I've run on Pirelli. Consistent quality every time. They're okay. Proper grip on packed snow, no wheelspin drama. Not the last word in steering feel.

A step up from my old set
Handles standing water better than my previous set. Feel much safer in autumn rain. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Holds well in snow and slush.

Okay for everyday driving
For this price I didn't expect much, but the Winter Sottozero 3 genuinely surprised me. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate.
