What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Trusted Yokohama quality
Had these through a full season now. Wear is minimal and performance hasn't dropped. Fuel consumption seems slightly better since the switch. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring.

Yokohama delivers again
Early days, but first impressions are very good. Smooth and quiet. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.
