What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Does the job well
The car feels more stable in crosswinds since fitting these. Holds well in snow and slush.

Decent for the price
Braking in the wet feels a touch longer than my old premium set, but at this price it's fair. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Impressed so far
Steering response improved straight away after fitting. Very pleased. Would recommend to anyone after a dependable winter tyre without overspending. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Smooth ride
Comfortable over rough surfaces. My old set used to thump over every bump. Felt secure on icy morning roads. Slightly firmer ride than I expected.

Early days, but first impressions are very good. Smooth and quiet.
