What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.
Rim protection: Rim protectionA raised rubber profile near the bead helps protect the rim edge from light kerb contact. It cannot prevent every type of wheel damage.

Fitted and forgotten
They're okay. Comfortable enough, but I expected a bit sharper turn-in. Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Felt secure on icy morning roads.

Impressed so far
Had these through a full season now. Wear is minimal and performance hasn't dropped.

Trusted Yokohama quality
Put these on two months ago and the car feels noticeably more planted. The BluEarth-Winter (V905) grips well on dry roads.
