What the tyre markings mean

XL: Reinforced tyre (XL)XL means Extra Load. The tyre is reinforced and can carry a higher load than a standard tyre of the same size. Always follow the vehicle's specified load index and tyre pressure.
M+S: Mud and Snow (M+S)M+S is a manufacturer's indication that the tread is intended to offer improved traction in mud and snow. By itself it is not the same as the tested 3PMSF winter certification.
3PMSF: Three-Peak Mountain SnowflakeThe mountain-and-snowflake symbol identifies a tyre that has passed a standardised severe-snow traction test. It is the recognised performance marking for winter conditions.

Does the job well
Grip in corners is reassuring and the steering feels a bit sharper than before. Early days, but first impressions are very good. Coped fine with a light snowfall in early spring. Could be a touch quieter on rough tarmac.

Not the grippiest in hard cornering, but for normal driving they're more than adequate. Balanced and predictable.
